The female Ambassadors of 888poker are doing great at the moment. Yesterday Xuan Liu won the $215 Sunday 2nd Chance on PokerStars and today Sofia Lövgren went deep in the The World Poker Tour Cyprus.

The $4,400 Main Event had 404 entries, which created a prize pool of $1,471,320 – with $310k up top for the winner.

Plenty of notables names were at the felt, among them Sam Trickett, Toby Lewis, Vladimir Troyanovskiy, Mickey Petersen, Nicolas Chouity and Antonio Buonanno.

Sofia Lövgren entered on Day 1b and she was able to finish the day with a stack around average. On Day 2 she continued to chip up even though she lost a big pot to Luca Moschitta with AK versus QQ. With around 130 players left Lövgren was the last woman standing:

Only 78 players survived to live another day, and Lövgren entered Day 3 with around 40 big blinds. Unfortunately she had Sam Trickett on her right, but at the end of the day it was Trickett, who was gone in 31st place.

Today, on Day 4, the remaining 30 players were going to play down to the six-handed final table. Lövgren was still in contention for the title and the glory, but with only 23 big blinds to her name, she was one of the shorter stacks. Lövgren did not come off to a good start as she lost a flip with AQ against 99 and was left with only 7 blinds.

On the final hand all of Lövgren’s chips went into the middle, when she called a raise from Dmitry Gromov. Lövgren had

and was up against Gromov’s . The board ran out and the Swedish pro was eliminated from the tournament in 26th place.

Lövgren takes home $10,800 for her deep run.
